The Impact of COVID-19 on Women, Children and Young people experiencing Domestic Abuse
Monklands Women’s Aid is taking a range of measures designed to ensure we continue to provide our specialist responsive services to those we serve. In the light of the current outbreak, Monklands Womens Aid is suspending all face to face contact to ensure the health and safety of service users and staff.
Following the Governments advice on self/house hold isolation, we are aware that this will have a direct impact on the women, children and young people experiencing domestic abuse. Home will not be a safe place for these women and children.
Please be assured that our services will continue to be accessible via our general telephone number (01236 432061). Accessing support through text or online can be a safer or preferred option than calling for support if they are not able to leave the household, as the perpetrator could overhear them on the phone. If this is the case, please text one of the following numbers 07736921671, 07730218086 or 07704146392 which will put you in contact with a support worker. Or you can email us on firstname.lastname@example.org
We will continue to follow Government guidelines to ensure the safety and wellbeing of the public and staff.
